BMRPA Military and Lever Action Silhouette Matches

Dates:


Weekend dates posted on the BMRPA calendar for April, May, July, Aug., Sept, Oct, Nov, and Dec. November and December as weather permits.


Registration:


Registration starts at 9:00 am Central time. Match shooting to begin at 10:00am. The Military Match will be fired first, with the Lever Action Match to follow after a short lunch break.


Entry fee:


$10 per match. Open to any responsible shooter and all Match officials.


Rifles: Definition:


Military: Any centerfire rifle as issued for general service by the armed forces of any nation with standard type stock.


a. 5.56mm caliber or larger. AR platform rifles in calibers other than U.S. military issue will be classed as non-compliant. Be aware that the 5.56/223 will be underpowered for the ram targets, resulting in struck targets that may not fall off the rail.


b. Front and rear sights shall be iron sights of original design, but may vary in dimension of rear sight aperture and front sight blade. Scope sighted rifles will be classified as non-compliant.


c. Cartridges may be loaded from the magazine or single loaded.


Lever Action: Any lever action rifle with a tubular magazine of original manufacture or replica thereof.


a. Centerfire, 25 caliber or larger, with a rimmed case, loaded with round or flat nosed bullets suitable for loading through a tubular magazine. Exception: 30 Remington and 35 Remington.

b. Cartridges may load from the magazine or single loaded, however they must be able to cycle through the magazine if requested by the R.O. Ammunition which cannot meet this requirement will be classed as non-compliant. Bullets with spitzer shaped polymer tips are also classed as non-compliant.

c. Rear sights may be open, receiver, or tang sights. Front sights may be factory post or bead, or aperture sights with changeable inserts. Sights with changeable inserts may use post or bead inserts, aperture inserts must be round and non-magnifying. The tube may not be longer than 1 1/8th inches or larger than 3/4 inch.


Non-Compliant: Rifles which do not meet guidelines are welcome to compete in the non-compliant class. Non-compliant competitors may not be match winner.


Course of fire:


40 round matches. 10 targets at each of four distances, timed. Each set of targets will be divided into two sets of five. Targets are standard sized high-power steel silhouettes. Targets must be shot in order, left to right, and must fall to be counted. Tie scores will be decided by shoot off, or reverse

animal count.


Chickens: 50 meters

Pigs: 100 meters

Turkeys: 150 meters

Rams: 200 meters

General Information:
